Back in 2010, we started out making USB power ports for the powersports industry. These had to be hardened for dirty, wet, snowy, outdoor conditions.

A customer called called one day asking if we made a power port for electric vehicles. We didn't at the time, but said we certainly could, what was he driving? He said it was for a forklift! It turned out he needed a dual output power port to charge a tablet and a hand-held scanner.

We designed our first dual-output hardened power port for the industry. It provided a USB power port for his tablet and a 12v barrel connector for the hand-held scanner's chargin cradle. These little devices were the perfect solution to his charging problems.

That customer inspired our name when he told us "Your product works perfectly, I sure wish I had tried your product first... it is the solution to my problem!" And thus, 1st Solution Tech was born!
